The tax collector is responsible for the collection of all current and delinquent property taxes, conducting tax and lien searches; and collection, depositing and disbursement of all funds.

Franklin Township’s annual Tax Sale is normally conducted in May of each calendar year for the prior year’s delinquencies. 

NOTICES from the Office of the Tax Collector

Due to the late certification of the 2009 tax rate, the grace period for payment of third quarter 2009 taxes has been extended to August 24 2009.  After that time, interest will be computed based on the August 1, 2009 due date.

The State of New Jersey has extended the deadline for the filing of PTR forms to August 17, 2009.  PTR -1 forms are available in the Tax Collector’s office.

TAXES ARE DUE ON FEB 1; MAY 1; AUGUST 1; AND NOVEMBER 1.  TAXES ARE DUE ON THE FIRST WITH A 10 DAY GRACE PERIOD. PAYMENT MUST REACH OUR OFFICE BY THE 10TH. ANY PAYMENTS AFTER THE 10TH WILL ACCRUE INTEREST BACK TO THE DUE DATE OF THE 1ST. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.
